SHOW NOTES: his is our COMMUNICATIONS COMMUNIQUÉ™ series! Our ability to express our ideas is critical to achieving any of our goals in life. We may possess the secret to eternal life and perpetual joy but if it is trapped inside our thoughts with no way to share it with others it is useless. When we speak, write, stand, touch, move, see, hear, taste and use any of our body to express what is in our mind we are able to create real life manifestations of our internal thoughts.

Writing, speaking and using our body language are some of the most common paths that we utilize to express our ideas externally. This is the field of communications!

We explore the techniques to most effectively express our ideas in this series. The series is very important as the most brilliant ideas are nullified by the failure to effectively marshall our pathways of idea delivery (it is not what we say but how we say it). Due to the very important nature of each of these shows they are therefore each a communiqué. Thus, our series name, COMMUNICATIONS COMMUNIQUÉ™, is born!

I will utilize my experience in professions where elite level use of communications is required including as an attorney, professor, television and radio performer, and keynote speaker. Using our body, breathing, speaking, and all other available techniques to gain the attention of our audience, convey the message we desire most powerfully and persuasively and achieve results that surpass our goals is what this series is all about! Join in and let’s unleash your untapped reservoirs of transformative communications power!

This specific episode is the debut of our COMMUNICATIONS COMMUNIQUÉ™ series and is,“How to Use Your Voice to Succeed in a Phone Job Interview!”

1) What is the purpose of an interview?

To get the job offer.

2) What are the advantages of a phone (or voice only) job interview?

You have less variables to address so it is ‘easier’ in some respects. In a visual interview (in person and to a lesser extent on video) you have to monitor and control your voice, body, posture, facial expressions, scent, grooming, attire, etc., and with the voice-only interview you only have to address your voice (and breathing).

3) In the show we discuss how to accept that you are a performer.

Yes, you are. Each time you choose to interact with external entities beyond the confines of your private living space (in person, via voice, via video, in writing, etc.), you are a performer.

4) Have you ever watched someone out at a store that is destroying their opportunity to get what they want (help with a purchase, etc.) by using poor communication techniques (such as yelling, insulting, aggressive body language, too soft speech, etc.)?

We all have.

It is amazing how frequently people choose to deny themselves their desires by making it difficult (if not impossible) to be understood and assisted. This is what many people do on the phone interview. They take money out of their own pocket by refusing to study communications (as we do in this series) and they force the interviewer to offer the job to another applicant (often a less qualified one!). In this show we discuss some of the reasons why.

5) In this show you will learn how to start a new plan immediately to customize an individual inventory of your communication techniques that are robbing you of professional opportunities! You will also learn how to use your breathing, sighing, speed, volume, pacing, projection, elimination of verbal crutches, etc., to ensure that you will garner the job offer! People can hear your [...]
